Tiguas rejoin Pueblo Council after centuries

EL PASO -- The Tiguas of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo officially joined the All Indian Pueblo Council in a traditional ceremony held Monday on Tigua land in El Paso.

However, Tigua councilmen say that the tribe was originally part of the New Mexico Pueblo Indians and was driven into Texas by the Spaniards during the Pueblo Rebellion of 1680.
