Climate change deniers need to dust off their brains - grin.

Have humans contributed to the growth of deserts? Yep, plenty of proof there even in USA - remember Dust Bowl? What about diseases that could be carried to us from sand/dust storms in Asia and Sahara? Read on and find out for yourself - hack, wheeze, ack - that dust has a garlic flavor - must be Chinese - smile.

Atmospheric Movement of Microorganisms in Clouds of Desert Dust and Implications for Human Health
Billions of tons of desert dust move through the atmosphere each year. The primary source regions, which include the Sahara and Sahel regions of North Africa and the Gobi and Takla Makan regions of Asia, are capable of dispersing significant quantities of desert dust across the traditionally viewed oceanic barriers.
Asian dust storms can take from 7 to 9 days to cross the Pacific Ocean. Dust storms moving off the west coast of Africa can take from 3 to 5 days to reach the Caribbean and Americas.
During an African dust event that occurred from 25 to 28 July 2005
These data demonstrate the ability of dust storms to impact air quality at significant distances from their sources (Tampa Bay is >6,500 km west of the coast of North Africa).Read more at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Planet and People Killing Lessons from Lilly and Monsanto

This article notes how Eli Lilly give women cancer and treats it as well. Monsanto develops (GM) seeds that will love and depend upon its Round Up pesticide and probably spawn a reaction by the natural system akin to cancer and then Monsanto can develop an even stronger pesticide that will give people and the planet cancer at the same time. Look for a partnering strategy between the two.

Breast Cancer Action Asks You To Be The Billboard

Eli Lilly has taken pinkwashing to a whole new level. By adding rBGH to the products they sell, Eli Lilly has completed its cancer profit circle: it creates cancer with rBGH, it sells cancer treatment drugs like Gemzar, and it sells a drug, Evista, to reduce the risk of breast cancer in women at high risk of the disease. Eli Lilly’s cancer drugs made $2,683,000,000 for the company in 2008. Its potentially carcinogenic dairy hormone made millions of dollars in the same year. Eli Lilly is milking cancer.

Beware of "Corporate" Petitions at "Respected" Petition sites

This one looks good until you ask yourself - Does the American Medical Association really care about patient's rights or? (AMA - Get Involved

Encourage your patients to enter the health care debate by joining the AMA's Patients' Action Network. As a member, your patients can make a difference and ...

www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/advocacy/get-involved.shtml )

Recently, another "action" group representing for-profit colleges circulated a similar kind of petition looking good but trying to protect their ability to convince adult students still eligible for student loans that their degree is a doorway to a new future but really is up to $40,000 for an Associate of Arts degree. Check the prices of community colleges - these private schools would have to be really outstanding at that price. At two-year colleges, the average cost for tuition and fees is $2,713. Private Prison Profit Reason for Arizona Illegal Alien Law

The current Governor has really close ties to private prison companies. What better way to up profits than by putting more people in detention. As usual - follow the money and you will find the stink. Race bait voters so you can get money from filling up private jails that are paid with your tax dollars!

Tucson Hearing Puts Spotlight on Private Prisons in Arizona

Tucson Hearing Puts Spotlight on Private Prisons in Arizona
From Mike Wilson of the Tohono O’odham Nation to Joe Glen of the Maricopa & Pima Juvenile Corrections Associations, the theme was the same: Companies such as Corrections Corporation of America, Management Training Corporation, and the GEO group consistently focus on profit over safety and rehabilitation of those who are incarcerated in their facilities.

Coming directly on the heels of the Tucson Hearing was a scathing report from National Public Radio exposing the influence that private prison corporations had in the development of Arizona’s controversial immigration law, SB1070. Corrections Corporation of America, which holds contracts with the federal government to incarcerate immigrants, was a key player in creating a law that would increase the number of immigrants in detention, thus representing the potential for tremendous corporate profits. The report describes how a shadowy organization called ALEC provided opportunities for corporations to meet with state legislators to draft model legislation, which those legislators later took back to their states.Read more at bsnorrell.blogspot.com

Fear - the dark corner in this Afghan woman's mind and heart

Let's hope her brave poetry helps her and does not end up costing her, her life - as it could in her land.

Amplify’d from www.awwproject.org

Whenever…

Whenever the door of my heart begins to open

Something closes it with fear.

Whenever I try to fly free and high

Something covers my wings before I can try.

Whenever it is time to speak up

Something seizes my words.

Whenever the past is about to be forgotten

Something reminds me of it over and over.

Whenever I can take a step forward

Something pulls me in reverse.

Whenever I can try a new endeavor

Something draws me back to the old.

Whenever I have a new idea

Something destroys it to the marrow.

Whenever my accomplishments blossom

Something keeps them captured.

Whenever more can be written

Something prevents me to continue.

Whenever I say enough is enough

Something says it will never be enough.

When will I find out what this

Something is?

No One…

No one knows how it feels to be so sad

No one knows how it hurts to live so alone

To walk on a dark path

No one sees when your heart is broken

No one cares if you have pain

When your dreams are taken

No one takes your hand when you are fallen

No one knows how you are

exhausted of living

or listens if you cry, “the world is selfish!”

No one loves a mad girl

No one wants a sad girl

No one cares if the cruelty doesn’t finish

Nevada's Angle Takes Lessons from the Racist George Wallace of Old.

She'll not be outdone, it seems, in slamming Latinos and anyone she can smear for thinking they are as human as Anglos.

Amplify’d from www.latinalista.net
Latina Lista

Latest political ad by Nev. GOP Angle slanders all Latinos -- she should be sued!

One of the highly objectionable lines in the ad says that "waves of illegal aliens are streaming across our border joining violent gangs and forcing families to live in fear."

Every picture of these "illegal aliens" is one showing Latino youth. The family living in fear is Anglo.

The insinuations and implications made in this ad are not just highly insulting -- they're slanderous.
